I am at a loss on how sane people will encourage, albeit unconscionably, the ongoing political brinksmanship by vain and selfish men who place their selfish interests above those of the people they pretend to serve, and will spill blood to achieve their objectives.
Nothing has changed. The present crop of Nigerian politician does not have the solutions to Nigeria’s problems. Enough of spouting theories; to restructure Nigeria now is to kick-start the engine of change. It is a wonder that the campaign for restructuring lost momentum a little bit too soon and it fizzled out altogether.
A titan that has made the deepest impression on me is Professor Akintoye whose total commitment to the Yoruba nation self-determination struggle at age 86 is legendary.
This is a clarion call to all patriots to push for the campaign to #RestructureNigeriaNow. Government must be forced to focus attention on the grievances of the people. Ideally, citizens who desire the peace and prosperity of Nigeria ought to take a stand now and together pull back our dear nation from the precipice.
To be arrested, beaten and brutalised is fast becoming a badge of honour among peaceful protesters and liberation struggle heroes. The discipline and resilience of #EndSARS anniversary protesters was exemplary and a significant achievement. Fear usually associated with threats of arrest is a tremendous hindrance to a liberation struggle; the type of defiance campaign suitable for “#RestructureNigeriaNow” demands a violence free campaign from the side of protesters properly organised by critical thinkers.
