UNIZIK gets acting registrar, Samuel Ufoh

The management of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, has appointed Mr. Samuel Nnaemeka Ufoh as the new acting Registrar of the institution.

The development was made public through a letter signed by the institution’s Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Charles Esimone, FAS, dated April 5, 2024, with the caption: “APPOINTMENT AS ACTING REGISTRAR OF NNAMDI AZIKIWE UNIVERSITY AWKA.”

The letter, which was also made available to the Nigerian Tribune in Awka on Monday, reads: “In the absence of the Governing Council of Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka and in the exercise of my powers as the Vice-Chancellor of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, I hereby appoint you Acting Registrar of the University with effect from Monday, April 8, 2024, as the tenure of the current Registrar expires on April 7, 2024.

“You will remain in that position until a substantive Registrar is appointed except as may be dictated by any emergent exigencies. I congratulate you on your appointment and hope that your performance in office will justify the confidence inherent in this appointment. Congratulations.”

Prior to his appointment, Mr. Sam Ufoh was a Deputy Registrar 1 in charge of the Personnel Unit of the Registry. Ufoh is a pastor of the Foursquare Gospel Church, and he hails from Nri in Anaocha Local Government Area of Anambra State.

The immediate past Registrar, Barr. Philomena Okoye, handed over to Mr. Ufoh in a colorful ceremony held at the office of the Registrar of the University on Monday.
