The Amangwu Development Union, through its Scholarship Programme Committee, has released winners for the Amangwu Tertiary and Secondary School Scholarships 2023.
This is contained in a statement jointly signed by the Chairman Amangwu of Amangwu Scholarship Youth Empowerment and Employment Programme (SYEEP), Amb. Sunday Chibuzo Okereke, Secretary Amangwu-SYEEP, Ibekwe Ikenna Victor, and the President General, Amangwu Development Union, Mazi Kanu Basil Iroegbu.
The statement said a total of 11 Amangwu students, representing Four (4) males and seven (7) females, will receive the University Levels Scholarship. A total of 35 students, representing Fifteen (15) males and Twenty (20) females, will receive the Secondary School level Scholarships.
“Two (2) Universities and twenty (20) Secondary Students are being sponsored by the benevolence of UgwuAro, Mazi Emma Kanu Ivi; Five (5) Universities and fifteen (15) Secondary School Students are by Mazi Frederick Eze Foundation while Four (4) Universities Students will be sponsored by Mazi David Ukachukwu Eze”, the statement said.
The Committee commended their pioneer donors for believing in the vision for the transformative human capital development of Amangwu Youths through access to basic and higher education.
“We thank Mazi Emma Kanu Ivi, Mazi Frederick Eze Foundation, and Mazi David Ukachukwu Eze for sponsoring this maiden edition of the Amangwu Educational Scholarship Programme.
“We heartily appreciate and salute the leadership excellence, passion, and guidance of the ADU President, General Mazi Kanu Basil Iroegbu. We thank and appreciate the Leadership of the ADU (Women Wing) and the Youth for their immense support”, the statement noted.
“In delivering this onerous task of selecting the awardees, which we have unveiled today, the Amangwu-SYEEP Committee held several meetings, conducted a very professional screening exercise for applicants, and worked with several Sub-Committees headed by eminent Men and Women. We thank the Leadership and Members of the various Sub-Committees for the incredible work done and their love for the development of Amangwu.
“To the Awardees, we congratulate you all and enjoin you to be good ambassadors of Amangwu and your various institutions.
“We look forward to receiving more Donors who will be willing to sponsor more people. The Amangwu in our vision is one where everyone has the opportunity to attain their educational dreams and where we work together to lift others to thrive, flourish, succeed, and give back for the socio-economic, infrastructure, and cultural development of Amangwu”, the statement added.
