The United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund (UNICEF) has commended Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano for his dedication to improving the education sector.
UNICEF Country Director, Mrs Christain Munduate, expressed her appreciation during a meeting at the Kano Government House, highlighting the successful partnership between UNICEF and Kano State.
Munduate emphasised UNICEF’s continued support for the state’s health and education sectors, urging the state to fulfill its counterpart funding obligations for the Malnutrition project.
Governor Yusuf requested increased support from UNICEF and other donor agencies, emphasising the need for additional assistance in education and health.
He assured the visiting delegation, the State’s commitment to doubling the counterpart funding contribution compared to Jigawa for combating the pressing issue of Malnutrition.
