Underwriter reiterates commitment to customers at South-West providers’ forum

AXA Mansard Health, the leading health insurance provider, has reiterated its ongoing commitment to delivering quality healthcare to its millions of customers across Nigeria.

The company’s Chief Executive Officer, Tope Adeniyi, stated this during the South-West Provider Forum held recently in Ibadan.

According to Adeniyi, the forum forms part of AXA Mansard Health’s continuous initiative to collaborate with healthcare providers, ensuring its customers across Nigeria have access to quality, affordable, and accessible healthcare.

He highlighted that AXA Mansard Health prioritises its customers, making the forum an opportunity to engage with providers and collectively strategise on how best to deliver superior healthcare services.

“For us at AXA Mansard Health, it’s about the customer first. This is not just a core value—it is the guiding principle behind everything we do, from innovation and process improvement to product development and even our CSR initiatives. We are a company built on protecting what matters to our customers.

“However, we recognise that it is our providers who complete this value chain of superior customer service—the hospitals, clinics, laboratories, and more. They are the frontline of how our customers experience our services. That is why we are here today—to strengthen our partnerships and ensure our customers always receive the best care.

“Our customers remain our top priority, followed closely by our providers. We are convinced that by maintaining this model, we will continue to set the benchmark for healthcare insurance in Nigeria.

“Our broader vision is to reach every corner of Nigeria, delivering premium healthcare services to all Nigerians, because they deserve nothing less. These forums play a crucial role in building strong provider partnerships that ultimately lead to better healthcare outcomes for our customers,” Adeniyi stated.

The forum, which has been held in various cities including Lagos, Port Harcourt, Sokoto, Maiduguri, Ibadan, and Abuja over the past four months, underscores AXA Mansard Health’s commitment to addressing the healthcare gap and ensuring premium healthcare services are accessible to all Nigerians—not just those in major urban areas.

This nationwide reach enables the positive impact of these engagements to be felt across the country, fostering collaboration and the exchange of best practices needed to tackle Nigeria’s diverse healthcare challenges.

Nigeria faces significant healthcare obstacles, with only 4.08% of its GDP allocated to healthcare. The country also has a doctor-to-patient ratio of approximately 1 to 10,000, far below the World Health Organisation’s recommended 1 to 600. Moreover, healthcare access remains unevenly distributed, with rural areas experiencing higher out-of-pocket healthcare costs compared to urban zones. There is an urgent need for initiatives such as the Provider Forum to improve healthcare delivery for all Nigerians.

AXA Mansard Health is committed to enhancing its products and services through these forums while also working to improve the overall healthcare experience for its customers. The company plans to hold future forums in the South-East region in the coming months, further demonstrating its dedication to making quality healthcare accessible to all.

“As we progress further into 2025, the insights and feedback gathered from these forums will play a pivotal role in shaping our company’s strategy to enhance customer experience and ensure that quality healthcare is accessible to all Nigerians,” Adeniyi added.
