UK: One Direction stars attend late member, Liam Payne’s funeral in Buckinghamshire

Published by

Family, friends, and former bandmates gathered in Amersham, Buckinghamshire, United Kingdom, on Wednesday to bid a final farewell to Liam Payne, the late One Direction star.

The private funeral service came just over a month after Payne tragically passed away at the age of 31.

Payne’s former bandmates Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, Niall Horan, and Zayn Malik were among the mourners, standing united in grief alongside his girlfriend, Kate Cassidy, and former partner, Cheryl, with whom he shared a son, Bear.

The solemn ceremony featured a white horse-drawn hearse adorned with floral tributes spelling “son” and “daddy,” reflecting the cherished roles Payne played in his family’s life.

Payne’s untimely death occurred on 16 October, following a fall from the third floor of a hotel room in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

According to BBC, an autopsy confirmed that he suffered multiple traumatic injuries, as well as internal and external bleeding.

Rising to fame on The X Factor in 2010, Payne and his One Direction bandmates transformed their third-place finish into global superstardom. With over 70 million records sold and four UK number-one albums, the group became one of Britain’s most successful music acts since The Beatles.

Payne’s talent extended beyond performance as he co-wrote many of the band’s hits and later launched a successful solo career with tracks like Strip That Down and Bedroom Floor.

The late music star is survived by his parents, two sisters, and his son, Bear.
