The University of Ibadan has extended till midnight next Tuesday the deadline for students to complete their registration.
This development was contained in an internal memorandum dated Friday, September 20, signed by the institution’s registrar, Saliu G. O. sighted by Tribune Online on Friday evening.
Midnight of Friday had earlier been set as deadline for closure of the fee payment portal or course registration.
The memo held that the extension was in line with agreement reached with the students union at a meeting on Thursday.
The university also confirmed receipt of funds for 3,283 of its students who applied for the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND).
It subsequently asked the benefitting students to go online and complete their registration by paying throughout the wallets created for them on the school portal.
The memo read: Further to our circular number REG/13/I.27 of 18 September, 2024,I write to inform the University community that the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) has now credited the University of Ibadan with funds for the 3283 students whose loan applications had just been approved.
“Affected students are therefore directed to go online and complete their registration by paying through the wallets created for them on the portal.
“To this end and in furtherance to the agreements reached with the leadership of the Students Union on Thursday, 19 September, 2024, students who are yet to complete their registration now have till 12 midnight of Tuesday, 24 September to complete their registration.”
