The Nigerian music industry is widely believed to be a fierce one with the disproportionate ratio of people who make it into limelight versus the ones who do not.
In spite of the competition, many remain defiant and hopeful that they would get the big break, especially when signs look promising through early reception of their works by music lovers.
One such talent who seems to be worming his way into the hearts of music lovers in the country and beyond is Ugo. The Imo State-born artiste, who claimed to have been influenced by Snoop Dog, Celine Dion and Michael Jackson, recently released a track ‘Life is banana’ and the song is already getting reviews.
In an interview with R, Ugo revealed that he made his music debut in 2014 after trying his hands at owning a music label.
“I started singing and rapping since my secondary school days and due to the fact that I listened a lot to Snoop Dog, I took after his style a bit. I got the nickname ‘Snoop’. Music became an official and serious business for me in 2014, although I had tried building a record label before that,” he said.
Speaking on his biggest moment so far in the industry, the singer recalled when he was invited on a tour of Europe and got to perform alongside popular acts like 2baba and Phyno.
The artiste is set to release another song.
