Uduaghan’s PDP exit is Okowa’s undoing ― Ogboru

THE governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief Great Ogboru, has said Governor Ifeanyi Okowa’s greatest undoing was to allow Dr Emmanuel Uduaghan to leave PDP.

Chief Ogboru stated this on Monday during his governorship campaign tour to Burutu, in Burutu Local Government Area of the state, noted that Okowa’s refusal to accept Uduaghan’s handover has made him (Okowa) perform poorly.

Ogboru, however, promised to turn Burutu into a tourist centre in order to revive the economy of the area.

“For Okowa to allow Uduaghan to leave PDP is his greatest undoing.

“Uduaghan leaving PDP is a loss for Okowa and a plus for us.

“Burutu may have been forgotten by the present PDP government, but we will make Burutu functional by making it a tourist attraction when we come into government.

Speaking further, the immediate past Governor of Delta State, Dr Emmanuel Uduaghan reiterated that Delta needs a man with business acumen to create wealth in the state.

He said that the APC governorship candidate, Chief Great Ogboru, has such capacity.

“Ogboru has the business acumen, experience and contacts to create wealth and build a new Delta. And as for the Senate position.

“My voice will be loud and clear in the Senate because I will ensure that Deltans’ voice is loud and I will gainfully initiate laws that will transfer some equity of Oil companies operating in the Niger Delta to the people of the region,” Uduaghan vowed.

On his part; the Director General of Chief Great Ogboru Campaign Organization, Chief George Timimini, charged the Ijaw nation to vote for Chief Ogboru who is married to their daughter, nothing that a first lady will do much for Burutu people than a docile deputy governor.

He also urged Burutu people not be selfish with the Delta South senatorial district slot, but allow it to rotate amongst the three ethnic groups, by voting for Dr Uduaghan who brought a lot of development to Burutu when he was a governor of the state.

“We believe in equity, Ijaws should not be selfish with the Senate seat, we should allow it to rotate amongst Ijaw, Itsekiri and Isoko by voting Dr Uduaghan,” he added.
