IMMEDIATE past governor of Delta State, Dr Emmanuel Uduaghan, led other dignitaries to Umeh carnival in Isoko South Local Government Area of Delta State.

Other dignitaries, who belong to his political family at the occasion included his secretary to state government, Comrade Ovouzorie Macaulay, former Commissioner for Special Duties (Infrastructure), Sir. Patrick Ferife, former Commissioner for Works and Chairman, Governing Council, Delta State Polytechnic, Ozoro, Hon. Solomon Fukekeme and former Commissioner for Women Affairs and Queen Mother of Enwhen Clan, HRM Betty Efekodha, among others.

The carnival was package by a social media group, ‘Umeh Needs Road,’ to commemorate the 57th Independence Anniversary celebration of Nigeria.

It was gathered that the people, on seeing the dignitaries, were ecstatic, as the sleeping town received some dose of vivacity and conviviality.

It will be recalled that Umeh, an agrarian community, enjoyed a multi million naira road project, awarded and executed by the Uduaghan’s administration.

The project ended the over 30 years of neglect and abandonment, following a well robust advocacy machinery deployed by indigenes of the area.

The advocacy, which was conducted on a Facebook group by Mr Duncan Afahokor, attracted Uduaghan to award and execute the road project.
