Two employees of Mercury Mill Company, Ota, Ogun State, have been arraigned before an Ota Magistrates’ Court for allegedly stealing a pack of nylon worth N30,000 belonging to their employer.
The accused, Habeeb Akinbolu (40) and Daniel Akinola (45), were charged with two counts of stealing and conspiracy.
The prosecutor, Inspector E.O. Adaraloye, informed the court that the defendants committed the offence on January 10 around 7 p.m. at the company’s premises located at Km 38, Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway, Ota.

Adaraloye alleged that security guards apprehended the defendants at the company’s gate with the stolen nylon pack.
He added that the offence contravened sections 390(9) and 516 of the Criminal Code, Laws of Ogun, 2006.
Both defendants pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The presiding magistrate, Mrs. O.O. Fadairo, granted them bail in the sum of N10,000 each with one surety in like sum and adjourned the case until March 4 for further hearing.
