Two PDP aspirants step down at primary

TWO gubernatorial aspirants of the people democratic party (PDP) have stepped down their ambitions for Barrister Solomon Ewuga and Senator Philip Gyunka respectively.

The duo who relaxed their ambitions for the two major contenders few minutes to the commencement of the exercise are Senator Patricia Na’omi Akwashiki and Hon Damishi Luka Barau who hail from Nasarawa Eggon and Akwanga Local government accordingly.

The Public Relations Officer of the PDP in the state, Alhaji Mohammed Umar Bwala confirmed it and said, no reason was given to their resignation from the race. But one of Akwashiki’s aids who doesn’t want her name in print said they stepped down for Ewuga for the interest of the Eggon people.

Barrister Ewuga is reportedly said to be the only aspirant among the contenders in PDP that can stand the reputation of any candidate from other parties in the state.

Meanwhile, Barrister Ewuga is in the early lead at the primary election, as three local government areas were said to have given Ewuga block votes.

So far, there was no record of rancour.
