Two lovers found dead in Ogun

Two lovers were found dead in a house on Hassan Abiodun Street in Ifo, Ifo Local Government Area of Ogun State, on Friday.
The deceased, identified as Miss Bolanle Ifedayo and Bode Ojugbele, had their heads smashed by their assailants in a manner similar to that of the dreaded Badoo cult group.
The assialants were said to have gained entry into Ifedayo’s apartment through the window before carrying out the dastardly act.
The circumstances surrounding their deaths had created fear in the hearts of residents of the area.
Saturday Tribune learnt that the lovers might have been killed by another man believed to be Ifedayo’s jealous boyfriend.
The remains of the deceased have been deposited at the General Hospital, Sagamu.
The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Abimbola Oyeyemi, however, denied the story doing the rounds that the lovers were killed by members of the Badoo gang.
Oyeyemi, an Assistant Superintendent of Police, told Saturday Tribune that a thorough investigation would be conducted to unravel the mystery behind the deaths.

He said that the lovers might have been killed as a result of rivalry over the lady, based on the statement by the brother of the deceased man.

He said, “People should know that not all murder cases are Badoo killings. Some people will commit murder in order to divert the attention of police away.

“The information at my disposal is that the lady in question rented a boys quarter at the place and the boys quarter has no louvres. So, the assailants gained entry through that and committed the crime.

“They killed her and her boyfriend. We can’t rule out the possibility that rivals were responsible. We have it on good authority that the man often come to the place and will spend the night, leave and come back, maybe after two weeks, and go. Definitely, somebody has been monitoring them.

“But our investigation will be all-encompassing. We are not going to leave any stone unturned. We are going to conduct a thorough investigation and bring all those behind the incident to book.”
