TROOPS of 25 Task Force Brigade, 7 Division, Nigerian Army, on Wednesday, cleared the hideout of Boko Haram terrorists at Dulsa and Buk, in Damboa Local Government Area of Borno State.
During the clearance operation, the troops recovered armoured fighting vehicle, trucks, arms and ammunition from the fleeing terrorists.
At Dulsa, the troops, after the operation, killed six Boko Haram terrorists and recovered one light machine gun, two rocket-propelled grenade tubes and one extra anti-aircraft gun barrel.
The troops also encountered Boko Haram’s camp at Buk, where they were engaged by the terrorists.
During the encounter, a large number of the terrorists were killed, while many others were wounded.
Items recovered included nine AK-47 rifles, three Fabrique Nationale rifles, two rocket-propelled grenade bombs, one mortar tube, one Shilka, one gun truck mounted with anti-aircraft gun and two Hilux vehicles.
Three soldiers were killed during the operation, while five others sustained injuries. Similarly, one mine-resistant vehicle belonging to the Brigade was badly damaged.
Bodies of the late soldiers and those that sustained injuries, it was gathered, had since been evacuated.
