Tricycle Riders Team win maiden Yamaha Cup in Ibadan

The Tricycle Riders team in Ibadan has won the maiden edition of Yamaha Cup organised by CFAO Yamaha Motor Nigeria Limited. The 4 weeks long 5-a-side football tournament was played among stakeholders in the mobility industry; Motorcycle Riders, Tricycle Riders, Max Okada Team and MC Mechanic Team. The games which kicked off on the 7th of February, 2020 was aimed at fostering camaraderie and encourage physical fitness and wellness among the players.

The winner’s medal, prize and trophy were presented to the super excited Tricycle team by the representative of Oyo State Honourable Commissioner for Works and Transport Prof Raphael Afonja, in the person of the Senior Special Assistant to the Honourable Commissioner Mr BolajiOyekanmi.

Speaking at the event, the Honourable Commissioner of Works and Transport congratulated the winning team and expressed satisfaction in what Yamaha has done in bringing stakeholders in the transport sub-sector together to compete against one another in a friendly and fun environment.

The Marketing Manager of CFAO Yamaha, Mr Victor Momodu said organising the Yamaha Cup is our own way of giving back to our customers and promoting unity and togetherness because you need your whole team contributing to winning a game of football. The final of the Lagos edition of the Yamaha Cup will be played Saturday, March 7 in Ikorodu.
