Tourism Personalities

TRAVELLERS Magazine, one of the prominent voices in the travel, tourism, hospitality and aviation industry in Nigeria and Africa has nominated, screened and published Tribune man, Wale Olapade, Chief Correspondent, TravelPulse&MICE/Business and 99 others as for the Top 100 Tourism Personalities in Nigeria.

The list which honoured industry players who have not only made a mark through their contributions to  practical promotion and development of tourism in Nigeria but also through agenda setting, awareness and product development and packaging to sell Nigeria to the  world were segmented into eight categories.

The all inclusive nomination drew stakeholders from elders in the industry, government and allied individuals, Africa Travel 100 women, associations, hospitality, Travel Agents/ OTA/ Tour Operators, African travel 100 tour operators and the media.

According to a release by the organiser of Travellers Magazine, Mr Ikechi Uko “In 1999, the Travellers Magazine published its first compilation of the Nigerian Top 100 Tourism Club and the compilation served the industry well as it provided a database of “Who is who” in tourism business in Nigeria.

Travellers Magazine was the first Travel Magazine in West Africa published since 1996 and 20 years after an update is needed and we came up with the list of Top 100 Tourism personalities who have made tourism in Nigeria what it is.

The list which was carefully compiled and screened by selected professionals has categories for the tourism elders, pioneers, association heads, young tourism promoters and Nigerian Winners of Africa Travel 100 Women Award and tour operators award.
