Tribune man, Taofeek Lawal, gunning for FCT SWAN Treasurer

Nigerian Tribune reporter, Taofeek Lawal, has thrown his hat into the ring to become the next Treasurer of the FCT chapter of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN).

Lawal, with over 17 years of experience in sports journalism, has worked in different media houses and has been a SWAN member since his days in Oyo State.

Taofeek, whose campaign slogan is “TAP T²” meaning Transparency, Accountability, Probity and Trust Taofeek, is enjoying the support of vast majority of SWAN members and has promised to serve diligently and bring a new lease of life into the Association with the support of other members.

“We can all together take SWAN to greater heights, where it truly belongs and the time is now. Respected elders, honourable colleagues, ladies and gentlemen, as we go to the polls to elect our executives this week, I want to you to cast your votes for me to emerge as the Treasurer of our esteemed Association.

“My campaign slogan is *””TAP T²”* which is anchored on Transparency, Accountability, Probity and Trust Taofeek. Trust me, your money is in safe hands and welfare of every member is paramount to the association and assured. Taofeek means Transparency, Honesty, Togetherness. Let’s revatilise the strength in FCT SWAN and build our Association together,” Taofeek said.

The election, scheduled for Friday, April 26, 2024, will hold at the Media Centre of the Moshood Abiola National Stadium, Abuja.

Other positions being contested are chairman, assistant secretary and welfare officer. The posts of vice chairman, secretary and the financial secretary are unopposed.
