Professor Emeritus Oladipo Akinkugbe has appraised the Nigerian Tribune Newspaper and described the newspaper as fearless and with finesse in terms of culture and the expression of its editorial views.
Professor Akinkugbe, the chairman of the occasion gave this remark on Thursday (today) in his opening lecture at the Tribune Platinum Awards which held at the International Conference Center (ICC), University of Ibadan, Ibadan.
Akinkugbe described the Newspaper as one that had stood the test of time despite the vagaries of the various military junta, saying “It has not failed in publishing well-researched articles and innumerable stories that have enlightened the people in different fields.”
He further said that the activities of the sage, Obafemi Awolowo showed that he was an icon even in his life, saying his leadership style and applaudable life is worthy of emulation.
