Tribal bigots not different from racists – Iyabo Ojo

Popular Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo has stated that tribal bigots are not different from racists.

Regarding the disparity of the tribe of Labour Party governorship candidate Gbadebo Rhodes- Vivour in the just concluded governorship election.

Iyabo Ojo stated this in a video clip via her Instagram page on Sunday, 19th March 2023.

The mother two added that, though she is a Yoruba lady by birth, her grandmother, an Igbo woman, raised her. She has different ethnical names, which does not make her less of a Yoruba woman.

Iyabo Ojo stressed that she is disappointed in and detests tribalistic people and, as such, doesn’t want to have any relationship with them.

She said, “The LP Governorship candidate is a Lagosian; his dad is from Lagos. If you now want to talk about that before you know you now associate him with his mother’s hometown.

So because his mom is Igbo, he cannot dress like an Igbo; he cannot have an Igbo name. I have an Igbo name; I have an Edo name; I have a Yoruba name; I have a Christian name; I have an English name, but does it make me less of a Yoruba lady? No!

I am highly disappointed in a lot of people that reason that way; if you are a tribalistic bigot, you have no reason to complain about racism because there’s no difference between you and anyone who is a racist .you are all the same.

I hate people who are tribalistic, so I don’t want to associate with you.”
