Travel industry stakeholders get commendations for excellence at ATICA 2025

The 2025 Afrique Travel Industry Conference & Awards (ATICA) celebrated distinguished professionals, stakeholders, and experts in the travel industry at a glamorous event held in Lagos last weekend.

ATICA’s highest honor for 2025 was awarded to Made Consult (Nigeria), which clinched the title of Most Outstanding Travel Agency of the Year. Other notable winners included Borderless Priority Tours Ltd (Nigeria), named Most Outstanding Corporate Travel Company of the Year, and Peaceway Travels & Holidays (Nigeria), which received the award for Most Outstanding Tour Operator of the Year.

The annual event also recognized key stakeholders for their exceptional contributions to the growth and improvement of the travel industry across the continent. Among the honorees were Herbert Odika, Executive Director of Operations at Skyway Aviation Handling Company (SAHCO) Plc, who received the Innovation in Operational Excellence Award, and Captain Ifeanyi Callistus, a pilot with Air Peace, who was named Customer-Friendly Pilot of the Year.

Speaking at the event, the convener, Ambassador Emmanuel Ossai, emphasized that ATICA aims to celebrate outstanding achievements and contributions to the travel industry. He described the event as a platform for networking, knowledge-sharing, and collaboration among African industry players.

Ossai affirmed ATICA’s commitment to recognizing and rewarding excellence within the African travel sector while providing a space for professionals to exchange ideas and inspire one another toward greater accomplishments.

He stated,

“Our objective is to showcase the best in the industry and inspire others to strive for excellence in all aspects of their business. By highlighting success stories and innovative practices, we aim to raise the standards of the travel industry in Africa and promote tourism as a key driver of economic growth and development.”

“ATICA is more than just an awards ceremony; it is a platform for networking, learning, and collaboration. We bring together industry leaders, experts, and innovators to share best practices, trends, and insights that will shape the future of travel in Africa.”

Ossai further explained,

“Our mission is to promote and celebrate excellence in the African travel industry by showcasing the best practices, innovations, and achievements driving the sector forward. Our vision is to become the leading platform for fostering collaboration, knowledge-sharing, and networking among key players in Africa’s travel industry, ultimately contributing to its growth and development.”

He concluded by reiterating that:

“The Afrique Travel Industry Conference & Awards (ATICA) is an annual event dedicated to the African travel industry. It brings together professionals, stakeholders, and experts to explore trends, address challenges, and identify opportunities within the continent’s travel sector.”
