The Ministry of Transportation has begun a collaborative effort with the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) to tackle the menace of insecurity on Nigerian roads.
This was disclosed by the Honourable Minister of Transportation, Senator Sa’idu Ahmed Alkali, during a meeting with the National President of the NURTW, Alhaji Tajudeen Ibikunle Baruwa.
The minister, during a meeting with the NURTW boss and other stakeholders in the transportation sector, harped on the importance of safety on the roads in the country.
He noted that security on Nigerian roads is very vital to the attainment of meaningful development in other sectors of the country.
Senator Alkali also expressed the readiness of the Ministry of Transportation to continue to partner with the NURTW and other stakeholders in the sector.

The NURTW boss, while making his remark during the meeting with the Honourable Minister, said that NURTW will continue to partner with the Ministry of Transportation and others to ensure the safety of Nigerian roads.
He also commended the Minister for the move to work with the NURTW to ensure safety on Nigerian roads
Alhaji Baruwa said, ” We have always prioritized safety on our roads and with the call from the Honourable Minister, we will continue to partner with stakeholders in the transportation sector.
