Former Governor of Lagos State and All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential aspirant, Bola Ahmed, has described the recent train attack as a national disaster.
He made this known on Tuesday when he came to Kaduna to commiserate with the governor and people of Kaduna State.
Accompanied by former Governor of Borno State, Senator Kashim Shettima, former Speaker, Yakubu Dogara and Senator Abu Ibrahim, the APC presidential hopeful also announced the donation of N50 million to victims of the attack.
While at the Government House, he was received by Governor El-Rufai and Senators Uba Sani and Suleiman Abdu-Kwri at Sir Kashim Ibrahim House, the Kaduna State seat of power.
In his remarks, Tinubu described the train attack as a national disaster, saying, ‘everybody should be concerned about the attacks going on in Kaduna state which have claimed hundreds of lives and properties in recent times.
Thus, he maintained that the killings by bandits are no longer acceptable and must stop.
He also urged Governor El-Rufai not to be deterred by the unfortunate incidents but he should continue to deliver good governance and dividend of democracy.
The former Lagos State governor also appealed to well-to-do Nigerians to support the Kaduna State government in addressing the humanitarian crises created by bandits attacks.
In response, Governor El-Rufai thanked Tinubu for the visit as well as the show of solidarity with the people of Kaduna State over the recent attack by cancelling his 70th birthday colloquium in honour of those killed.
The Kaduna State Governor also thanked Tinubu for his commitment to the unity and development of Nigeria.
El-Rufai said he is aware of Tinubu’s presidential ambition, adding that Nigeria is presently at a cross-road, and must make difficult decisions to get the right leaders.
