The traditional ruler of Isuofia, Aguata Local Government Area of Anambra State, Colonel Aloysius Muoghalu (retd), on Saturday, expressed concern over lack of water projects in the community.
Muoghalu appealed to Governor Willie Obiano to construct sustainable water projects in the community.
In an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), the traditional ruler said: “getting water in Isuofia has been a Herculean task which both the rich and the poor battle with.
“The community through communal and individual efforts has tried to provide boreholes to ensure steady water supply but failed at different stages,” he said.
He commended the Holy Child Secondary School, Isuofia, for initiating and executing the only public water project in the community.
According to him, the water project by the school management would help to salvage the water problem faced by members of the community.
He said: “The problem of water in Isuofia is not just an issue that can be solved by the school; we are appealing to the state government to consider erecting sustainable water boreholes in the locality.”
