Traditional rites for Ondo monarch to commence on Wednesday

The traditional rites of passage for the Ajana Afa of Okeagbe, in Akoko North West Local Government Area of Ondo state, Oba Oladunjoye Fajana, who joined his ancestors last year will commence on Wednesday, this week.

This was contained in a statement issued and signed by Prince Niyi Fajana, who explained that the burial rites to bid the monarch farewell would last for a week.

Fajana said the burial activities will kick-off on Wednesday 22nd November, 2023 with candle light procession at Ajuwa Grammar School, Oke Agbe by 4pm and will be followed with traditional salutation at Ajana Afa’s palace by 7pm.

He said the service of songs will hold on Thursday 23rd November at Ajana Afa’s palace by 4pm while the celebration of life Service at St. George’s church Oke-Agbe by 10am while reception follows at St. George’s pry school field by 1pm

Other events slated for Saturday 25th November, include presentation of the late monarch’s legacies at St George’s church hall by 10am while a public lecture holds at the same venue at 12pm.

He said there will be a thanksgiving service on Sunday, 26th November, at CAC Oke Ayo Afa Oke agba by 10 am

He described the late first class traditional ruler who joined his ancestors at 82 years as a true protector of culture and values of his people.

He therefore assured all invited guests and the people of the town of adequate security to ensure the safety of lives and property during the period.
