Toyota Nigeria floods auto market with newly launched Rush

TOYOTA Nigeria Limited (TNL) has introduced its new arrival, Toyota Rush, into Nigeria’s automobile market, with a projection of selling between 200 and 300 units of the auto brand in the year running 2019.

Performing the official unveiling of Toyota Rush at its headquarters office in Lagos, the TNL Managing Director, Mr Kunle Ade-Ojo, who said the company expected the vehicle to record an instant success, added that Toyota Rush was born out of an extensive research and the persistent demand for the model by lovers of the Toyota brand.

“The Rush is equally imbued with magnificent interior beauty and comfort. It is targeted at aspirational individuals that love the comfort and status of an SUV with excellent drive and affordable price.

“As a corporate and responsive organisation Toyota Nigeria Limited will continually strive to yield to the aspirations of our dear customers by enriching our stables with magnificent vehicles, offering attractive variants and surpassing customer expectations,” Ade-Ojo said.

He informed that the vehicle is a masterpiece that came in three variants, with loads of dynamic energy well structured in sharp elegant styling.

Further to this, Ade-Ojo said the Toyota Rush could compete favourably with other vehicles in the same segment on the platform of elegance and price, such it “is a befitting vehicle imbued with the trappings of the Toyota Superior Quality.”

Also at the unveiling ceremony, the TNL Marketing Manager, Mr Bayo Olawoyin, presenting the features of  Toyota Rush, said, the model, on its first production in 1997, was built with a 1.5-litre engine as a five-plus-two-seater automobile.

But now, Olawoyin said, its added features, bold and high-quality interior, attractive fuel economy, and other impressive features which include projector headlamps, dual-tone grille, LED taillights, are the unique selling points of the vehicle which made the Toyota Rush a head turner.

“The Rush is being introduced into the Nigerian market to fulfil customer yearnings for a Toyota SUV that would compete with the likes of Kia Sportage, Hyundai Tucson, Ford Escape and others in that category,” Olawoyin said.

In the features enhancing the vehicle’s safety, Olawoyin said the Toyota Rush’s brake is equipped with the anti-lock brake system and vehicle stability control functions.

“In addition to the supplemental restraint system front airbag, SRS side airbag and curtain shield airbag are installed to ensure a high level of passenger safety,” Olawoyin said.

Added to the braking system is a three-point seat belt affixed with the centre seat in the first row of the vehicle’s rear seat to ensure safety for all passengers.

Toyota Rush also came with a long cabin and robust body to enhance dynamic styling, with spacious headroom and legroom, allowing occupants to take long journeys at ease.
