Toyin Makinde dazzles dad in Lagos

An eel hopes to become a whale, for Oluwatoyin Makinde, it’s a dream come true!

The young man recently made his father, His Eminence Dr. Ola Sunday Makinde, a happy  man when he and his siblings, Bidemi, Oyeyemi and  Temilolu  threw a classy party recently to celebrate his 80th birthday.

A trained Pure Chemistry student from the University of Abuja, who caught the ICT bug after his first degree, Toyin couldn’t hide his love for his dad describing the former prelate of the Methodist Church as a Soldier of Christ that preaches salvation and holiness. He further described his father as a scholar, a super prayer warrior, a religious leader par excellence, a fearless man, a disciplinarian, a voice for the voiceless, a philanthropist and a loving and caring husband and father.

The Makinde siblings ensured guests that attended their father’s birthday had a swell time. The dignitaries included the governor of Oyo state, Seyi Makinde, former governors and ministers, Babatunde Raji Fashola, and Segun Oni.

Currently based in the United Kingdom, where he works with TVS Supply Chain, Toyin holds the position of a product consultant to the multinational company and the biggest Supply Chain company in Europe.

Toyin also runs a franchise business known as the Website Development Partnership, where he designs websites for big companies such as the supermarkets, the movie industries, pharmaceuticals by helping businesses tell their stories to build robust relationships with their clients. Fondly remembering some of the memories with his dad, Toyin picks the most striking one as seeing him cry when he was going to the UK for further studies in 2002.
