Towards curbing corruption in Nigeria

Published by

THERE are several families that need just thousands of naira to get by in life, and we have some people who were lucky to have held political offices siphoning billions of naira meant for the citizens of the country.

If we don’t strengthen our penal system, then corrupt politicians will be escaping justice.

It is important that those who have stolen from the country are punished by making them lose everything they have stolen, as well as those properties they had acquired legally.

After all these have been confiscated, then they should be sent to several years in jail without the option of fine.

It is also necessary that plea bargaining is phased out completely, as it doesn’t make those who have stolen from the country to get the punishment they deserve.
