The youths became students of the High Fashion Workshop: Fashion 101 which is a collaborative effort between Abi Goodman of OZ Consulting Firm and the Toronto Fashion Academy, Canada, and were taught fashion designing, styling, modeling, make up and photography.
The first edition of the workshop had in attendance celebrity fashion designer; Abril Cervera and celebrity photographer; Ruth Xospa as well as other internationally acclaimed fashion icons.
The workshop, which held in Lagos for a week at the Red Carpet Event Centre Oniru Victoria Island Lagos, saw some participants win summer trips to Canada, where they are scheduled to meet with acclaimed international designers and also grace some high profile fashion runways.
Selected participants have been featured in Red carpet a Mexican High Fashion magazine with many more other features to come. They included Omokanye Olanike, a 22-year-old graduate from the Federal University of Technology, Minna, who was selected as one of the outstanding participants of the workshop, Ochuonu Uchenna, a 17-year-old student of the University of Lagos and Ogeyinbo Joy Adeola who is a student of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta.
Four other participants were also lucky enough to win free fashion internship in Canada courtesy of the Toronto Fashion Academy.
Riding on the success of the first edition, The High Fashion Workshop: Fashion 101 returns to Lagos between September 26 to September 29 and workshop classes are open to registered participants.
Participants will be awarded an iternationally recognised certificate of participation at the end of the training in addition to a chance to win free internship in Canada.
