It was one day that the people of the town that shares a border with Ikorodu, Lagos State, may not be quick to forget as the unveiling of what was tagged the City of Rome did not only attempt to uhser to the presence of God with Alabi’s spirit-filled songs, but also threw them to the dance floor with Big B’s infectious beats.
An elated resident of the town asked rhetorically: “who needs Davido or Kiss Daniels? when Big B’s band could creatively transform their afro pop songs to relatable and danceable highlife music that saw the people and clerics in attendance dig it out stylishly.
The sun shone on the people and the waves danced and sparkled as Emuren people graciously welcomed Adron Homes team, led by its Group Managing Director, Oba Adetola Emmanuel King, accompanied by his wife, Aderonke to the official inauguration of Town Park and Gardens in the town.
From traditional rulers from Epe, Ilisan, Makun, Emuren led by the Akarigbo and paramount ruler of Remo land, Oba Adewale Ajayi, to chiefs, clerics, cultural troops from different parts of Remo and students, one could tell that the birth of ‘City of Rome’ in Emuren was long overdue and that the people were united behind the noble idea being executed by Adron Homes.

The traditional rulers took turns to pay compliments to the initiative of Emmanuel King, who deemed it fit to bring Town Park and Gardens to their town, they equally urged him to extend the vision of turning ‘towns to city’ to other parts of Remoland to boost its social-economic activities.
Speaking at the ground-breaking ceremony of the estate that had gulped over N300 million, Emmanuel King said his vision was to create happiness by using the instrument of housing to make Nigerians happy having realised that majority of the people were homeless.
“The story of Town Park and Gardens in Emuren, Imota is to extend the dynamic vision of an edifice which the whole world can see as a concrete reality to Nigerians in any part of the world. This vision was initiated almost two years when the intention to acquire 800 acres of land mass for first place of the estate, which cuts across Emuren-imota towns, was unveiled for implementation,” he said.
Veteran actor, Yemi Solade, who was the anchor of the event, gave glimpses that justified why he’s a core professional that had stood the test of time on the entertainment scene.
The estate has been designed as a channel through which the historical total lack of social amenities will be addressed in its twin host communities- Imota and Emuren. It is structurally-planned to further enrich the towns with an air of freshness, making houses affordable to potential investors.
