Top contributors to Nigeria’s digital economy to be honoured in Lagos

Nigeria’s leading digital innovators will be celebrated as the “50 Most Valuable Personalities (50MVPs) in Nigeria’s Digital Economy 2025” takes centre stage on May 22, 2025, at the BON Hotel, Ikeja GRA, Lagos.

Organised by Knowhow Media, publishers of IT Edge News.Africa, the recognition event will honour individuals making significant contributions to the growth and transformation of Nigeria’s digital space.

An exclusive offshoot of the West Africa Convergence Conference (WACC), the 50MVPs initiative celebrates top influencers, corporate leaders, policy shapers, and innovators redefining the country’s tech landscape.

“This recognition is more than an award—it’s a celebration of digital revolutionaries shaping Nigeria’s future,” said Dr Sola Afolabi, Chairman of the 2025 Nomination Committee and Chairman of Baobab Think.

Held under the theme “Consolidating Progress, Addressing New & Emerging Challenges in Nigeria’s Digital Economy,” the 2025 edition will feature thought-provoking discussions on the digital economy, insights into emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, blockchain, and data analytics, as well as the unveiling of the Nigeria Digital Economy Special Report 2025.

The event will also host the 50MVPs Industry Business Lunch, a high-level networking forum for CEOs, regulators, policymakers, and tech entrepreneurs.

Previous editions featured respected speakers including Prof Nentawe Yilwatda, Dr Vincent Olatunji of the NDPC, and Digital Realty CEO Ike Nnamani.

This year’s MVPs were selected based on four core pillars: Innovation and Vision, Impact and Influence, Leadership and Contribution, and Sustainability and Future Prospects.

According to the organisers, honourees are individuals driving ICT policy, fostering youth innovation, enabling governance through technology, and building sustainable digital ecosystems.

“The 2025 Recognition focuses on leaders building bridges between tech innovation and national development,” noted Olusegun Oruame, Executive Vice Chairman of Knowhow Media.

Backed by key stakeholders across Nigeria’s ICT and innovation sectors, the 50MVPs 2025 builds on the legacy of the Nigeria Top 50 Digital Economy Enablers.

With over a decade of commitment to spotlighting Africa’s tech progress, IT Edge News.Africa continues to play a pivotal role in shaping conversations around digital transformation.
