In its 2024 ranking, Global Firepower named Cairo, Egypt as the most populous capital city in Africa, with a staggering 21.75 million residents. Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of the Congo, and Luanda, Angola, follow closely, with populations of 15.628 million and 8.952 million, respectively.
