Togolese Comedian Majorito Reveals Nigerian Comedian Sabinus as Source of Inspiration

Born in Kpalimé and raised in Tsévié, Agodzro Komla Samuel, known to many as Majorito Totorino, began his career on May 5, 2010, with a memorable performance at a convention. Since that pivotal moment, he has emerged as a prominent figure in Togolese comedy, captivating audiences with his unique blend of humor and relatable storytelling.

From a young age, Majorito exhibited a passion for comedy, often skipping school to attend live shows. As a self-taught comedian, his natural talent quickly caught the attention of audiences, propelling him into various film and television projects that solidified his professional status. Today, he stands out as a leading voice in Togolese entertainment.

His performances often reflect the nuances of daily life, merging scripted film productions with spontaneous web videos that he releases almost immediately after shooting. This approach not only showcases his versatility but also allows him to connect with his audience in real time.

While Majorito welcomes criticism, he acknowledges that negative feedback serves as a significant motivator for his growth. “I believe there’s always room for improvement,” he stated. “Constructive criticism helps me evolve as an artist, while negative feedback pushes me to refine my craft.”

A recent career highlight for Majorito was his nomination for the 2024 Kora Awards, where he finished among the top two contenders. This recognition marked a significant milestone in his career, further establishing his presence in the comedy scene.

Despite his rising fame, Majorito admits that his social media persona doesn’t always mirror his real life. He noted that some of his posts are curated to enhance his image and attract professional contracts. “It’s important to maintain a balance between my true self and the persona I present online,” he explained. “Not everything is as it seems, but I strive to be authentic in my comedy.”

As Majorito continues to carve out his path in the industry, his dedication to his craft and inspiration from figures like Sabinus will undoubtedly influence the next chapters of his comedic journey.
