TMC Oyo State feeds the needy

THE Muslim Congress (TMC) in Oyo State, as part of efforts at supporting the vulnerable in the society, has distributed essential food items and rendered financial assistance to underprivileged individuals within the state.

The gesture was carried out recently under the banner of a programme tagged ‘Feed the Needy’ held at As-Sabaq College, Bodija, Ibadan.

At the event, the waali (state coordinator) of TMC, Alhaji Daud Oladosu, emphasised the pivotal role of affluent Muslims in uplifting the less fortunate.

Oladosu urged the haves to sustain their charity, noting the social benefits and spiritual rewards associated with such kindness.

The deputy coordinator of TMC in the state, Imam Sulaiman Adeyanju, reaffirmed the organisation’s adherence to the Islamic principles of compassion and solidarity, emphasising the importance of bringing relief to those in need.

In a lecture, Sheikh Tohir Hamzah echoed these sentiments, underlining the intrinsic value of aiding the needy as a pathway to spiritual fulfillment and worldly success.

Praising TMC’s commitment to humanitarianism, Hamzah urged other groups and individuals to emulate the organisation for the well-being of the society.

In a remark, the coordinator of drama and culture, Dr Kamoru Salahudeen, urged Nigerians to uphold moral integrity and resilience in the face of adversity.

Dr Salahudeen expressed confidence that economic hardships may persist, but Nigerians present opportunities for innovation and solidarity which are essential for overcoming challenges.

TMC’s state secretary, Alhaji Abdul Azeez Bamgbade, called on other faith-based organisations and philanthropists to join hands in alleviating the suffering of Nigerians during these trying times.

He implored the political authorities to expedite actions aimed at improving the socio-economic well-being of the citizens.

According to him, as the country grapples with economic uncertainties, TMC’s humanitarian initiatives serve as a beacon of hope, embodying the nation’s collective resilience and spirit of community support.

Through such concerted efforts, he said, “the organisation continues to make a meaningful impact on mitigating the effects of hardship on the most vulnerable members of society.”
