Tipper crushes motorcycle rider to death in Osun

A commercial motorcyclist has tragically lost his life after a lorry loaded with sand collided with his motorcycle.

This incident happened on Tuesday near Fountain University, Oke-Osun area of Osogbo.

The motorcyclist, who was transporting an officer of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), died instantly at the scene.

The NSCDC officer, whose identity has not yet been confirmed, sustained critical injuries and is currently receiving medical attention at a hospital.

The body of the deceased motorcyclist has been taken to the mortuary of an undisclosed hospital in the town.

Confirming the incident, the spokesperson for the state police command, Mrs. Yemisi Opalola, stated that one life was lost in the accident.

She added, “The traffic division is handling the matter, and the situation is under control.”
