Tinubu’s strategy no longer effective —Mr Jollof

Popular social media influencer, Freedom Atsepoyi, Mr Jollof, known for his staunch support of President Bola Tinubu, has publicly criticised the President’s handling of the nation’s economy.

He expressed his frustration over the escalating economic hardship, particularly the steep hike in fuel prices, which has caused widespread financial strain on many Nigerians. According to Mr Jollof, these challenges have plunged the country into what he described as “penury and abject poverty.”

In a video shared with his followers, the influencer didn’t mince words in addressing the current situation. He warned that if the government failed to find a swift solution to the economic turmoil, Nigerians could be forced to take drastic action.

“Nigerians will soon be pushed to the wall and fight back,” he stated, emphasising the growing frustration among the populace.

Mr Jollof’s primary focus in his criticism was the ongoing fuel price increase, which he believes is a key factor driving the economic downturn. He suggested that President Tinubu and his economic team should urgently reconsider their approach.

He specifically mentioned that the current strategy is no longer effective, saying, “The format Mr President is using don cast.” A phrase implying that the government’s methods are outdated.

The influencer further called on the government to either reduce the fuel price or reinstate the fuel subsidy, which was removed earlier this year as part of the government’s economic reforms.

According to Mr Jollof, these reforms have not delivered the promised relief and are instead exacerbating the financial struggles of everyday Nigerians.

“No more excuse right now is justifiable to Nigerians,” he added in a stern warning.

Many of Mr Jollof’s followers echoed his sentiments, with several people taking to social media to voice their own frustrations.

Some have even called for protests if the government does not take immediate action to alleviate the financial burden.

The rising discontent underscores the delicate political climate in Nigeria, as President Tinubu faces growing pressure to deliver on his campaign promises.

Despite his criticism, Mr Jollof said he remained hopeful that the President can turn the situation around if swift action is taken. However, he cautioned that time is running out and that Nigerians are growing impatient.
