Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni as well as the former Governor of Bauchi State, Malam Isa Yuguda have been praised for their unflinching support to the promotion of Almajiri schools systems which has brought more honour and dignity to Quranic Recitation in the country.
The commendation was made by a coalition of Quranic Disciples popularly known as Almajiri, both memorizers and reciters from the 36 states in Nigeria as well as in Africa.
The group therefore called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to, as a matter of necessity, honour the Yobe State Governor and former Governor of Bauchi State, for the love they have continued to show for the Quranic Disciples.
Leader of the Group, the Director of Education under the auspices of Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi Foundation, Sheikh Sayyadi Aliyu Sise Dahiru Bauchi, consequently advised President Bola Tinubu to nominate Isa Yuguda as Central Bank Governor or a Minister, while Mai Mala Buni Tinubu should be given the opportunity to nominate the person of his choice to represent Yobe state in any appointive position that will serve the interest of common man.
The Islamic Scholar stated this on Monday in Bauchi when he interacted with Newsmen, saying that he personally went round the country and beyond, met with many Qur’anic memorizers and reciters who recognised Isa Yuguda as the best among both former and the present Governors who have a high regard and respect for Almajiri pupils,
He said that, “We support Isa Yuguda, because he supported us , he carried us along, he honoured the learners and teachers of the book of Allah, Holy Qur’an.”
According to him, “When people were showing stigmatisation to Almajiri, Isa Yuguda embraced them, we also embraced him. We are appealing to President Bola Tinubu to do the right thing at a right time and appoint Isa Yuguda as the Central Bank of Nigeria Governor or a Minister for the success of his administration.”
He also said that Isa Yuguda, when he was the Governor of Bauchi State, earmarked and released the sum of N55mn monthly and about 20 cars to take care of Almajiri pupils and their teachers.
Sayyadi Aliyu further said that considering the political popularity, weight and coupled with the significant role he played in the 2023 general elections to ensure that Bola Tinubu got the required percentage in the state and other states in the North-East sub-region is qualified to get the position.
He also said that as a former Minister of Transportation and Aviation, and two-term Governor, Isa Yuguda has what it takes to be the representative of the people of the state and Nigeria .
Sayyadi Aliyu said that, “The choice of Isa Yuguda by Almajirai is due to the fact that he has transformed the lives of many citizens of Bauchi State when he was the state governor without discrimination.”
Sheikh Sayyadi expressed gratitude of Quranic reciters, learners and memorisers to Yobe State Governor ,Mai Mala Buni who asked all Almajiri Quranic pupils and their teachers to return to his State and went personally to the House of Sheikh Dahiru and commiserated with him.
He advised President Tinubu to be wary with anti people politicians like former Governor of Kaduna State, Nasir elRufai, instead, he should honour real democracts who supported the Almajiri education system like former Bauchi State Governor, Mallam Isa Yuguda and Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni.
“We also wish to state that if the President wants to succeed, he should honour the person that honour the book of Allah,” he stressed.
He berated former Governor of Kaduna State Mallam Nasir Elrufa’i for his alleged hatred ,bad treatment meted against Almajiri who are Qur”anic learners, reciters and memorisers throughout his tenure as the Governor.
Sayyadi Aliyu advised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to be wary of Nasiru elrufa’i and his like minds not to draw them closer or to follow their ill advices in the interest of Justice, fairness, peace, unity and Progress of the country.
He alleged that during the tenure Nasir of El-Rufai, he deliberately incited the people of Kaduna State, Nigeria and Muslims in the world when he went to a Peaceful, most respected and reknown Islamic Scholar, Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi and evacuated hundreds of Qur’anic pupils, teargassed them around 2am in the night.
He said that Nasiru Elrufai’s action was reckless and highly condemnable, having failed in his duty to protect the lives and properties of the people, instead, he went and harassed innocent citizens, his action violated the fundamental Human rights of Sheikh and his deciples.
According to him, “if not because of our spiritual leader’s wisdom and his love for peace, it would have turned to anarchy considering the large followership he has across the world, but, as an icon of peace, Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi Prayed for Peace in Nigeria as usual.”
He then assured that the Maulana Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi will come up with many ways to improve Quranic education in the country.
