A social-political organization in the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) known as ‘APC Network Group’ has described the choice of former Governor of Borno State, Kashim Shettima as the running mate for the APC presidential candidate, Bola Ahmed Tinubu as a perfect match for the present day Nigeria.
According to the group, the current critical state of things in the country particularly the issue of insecurity and economic downturn requires radical, experienced, dogged and principled leaders like Tinubu and Shettima considering their antecedents as two-term governors.
The group spoke through its National Coordinator, Olusegun Adedokun during a meeting with APC Vice Presidential Candidate, Kashim Shettima in Lagos.
Adedokun urged Nigerians to put aside sentiments and differences and vote for the APC presidential candidates in the interest of Nigeria’s development.
The group declared support for the APC candidates and promised to mobilize more youth groups to join the train toward a better Nigeria.
In a remark, one of the trustees of the group, Ijidale said there are strategies being put in place to canvass and mobilise for Tinubu/Shettima in the forthcoming presidential election.
Responding, Shettima appreciated the group for the visit and their words of encouragement, promising his readiness and that of the presidential candidate to roll their sleeves and work hard to return the country to a path of honour.
He said the empowerment of youths and women would be given top priority while pragmatic steps would be adopted to enhance trade and investment.
