Tinubu, Shettima, others bid Lagbaja farewell

President Bola Tinubu, on Friday, led a crop of top political office holders, Security Chiefs, family members, and friends of the late Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja, to bid farewell to the 23rd Chief of Army Staff (COAS), who died last week Tuesday.

Other important dignitaries at the National Cemetery, Abuja for the interment of the late Chief of Army Staff, Vice President Kashim Shettima, the Service Chiefs and the Inspector General of Police, IGP’, Dr Olukayode Adeolu Egbetokun, Members of the Federal Executive Council, State Governors and members of the Diplomatic Community as well as the members of the National Assembly

The rites started with the setting of the casket by the Pall Bearers, Faith Service/Opening Prayer, the Last Post, and a Minute’s silence for the departed Army Chief.

The Army Chief died on Tuesday, November 5, 2024, the ceremony is being held under water-tight security while the popular Airport Road was shut down.
