Tinubu reinstates Prof Zabbey as HYPREP project coordinator

Barely 48 hours after his removal as the project coordinator of the Hydrocarbon Pollution Remediation Project (HYPREP), President Bola Tinubu has approved the reinstatement of Professor Nenibarini Zabbey.

The presidency announced on Saturday the appointment of Dr. Olufemi Adekanmbi as the new project coordinator, among the series of appointments disclosed that day.

But a statement issued on Monday by Ajuri Ngelale, Special Adviser to the President (Media & Publicity), said the president reached the decision to reinstate Zabbey following a performance review of the HYPREP project coordinator.

The statement said Tinubu concluded that the project coordinator “is fit” to discharge his functions in accordance with the regulations guiding the execution of the Hydrocarbon Pollution Remediation Project (HYPREP).

“By the directive of the President, the reinstatement of the HYPREP Project Coordinator takes immediate effect,” the statement declared.
