President Bola Tinubu has expressed grief over the passing of Sarkin Sasa, Alhaji Haruna Maiyasin Katsina, Chairman of the Council of Arewa Traditional Leaders in the 17 southern states.
In a statement issued on Monday by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President (Information and Strategy), it was noted that Sarkin Sasa passed away at the age of 125.
Over the weekend, he was laid to rest in Sasa, Akinyele Local Government Area, Oyo State.

President Tinubu described the community leader’s death as a significant loss to the country, highlighting his substantial influence and contributions to peaceful coexistence among Nigerians.
The President extended his condolences to the Sarkin Sasa family, the people and governments of Oyo and Katsina states, and the leaders of Arewa communities in the southern states.
