Tinubu knows Nigerians are hungry… he moves around Abuja at night — Orji Kalu

Published by

Senator Orji Kalu, representing Abia North, has revealed that President Bola Tinubu personally moves around Abuja at night to assess the living conditions of Nigerians amidst the ongoing economic challenges.

Kalu shared this during an interview with Channels Television on Thursday, highlighting the president’s efforts to stay connected with the realities of ordinary citizens.

“The president knows that Nigerians are suffering and hungry. He is a street person. He knows the street very well,” Kalu said, emphasising Tinubu’s understanding of the economic hardship affecting the country.

According to Kalu, the president sometimes takes to the streets in his car at night to observe the situation firsthand.

“He is not a president that is locked in a hole. He is not a president who does not know what is going on. Whether there are kidnappings or not, he goes around with one or two cars,” Kalu remarked.

The senator acknowledged that while the current economic difficulties have impacted many Nigerians, the problem is not unique to the country.

He pointed out that global economic challenges are affecting nations worldwide, but reassured citizens that the government is actively working to reform the economy.

“Let me be honest; I know things have not been the way they are supposed to be. The economy has not been so friendly. This economic problem is going on almost everywhere in the world,” Kalu stated.

He urged Nigerians to remain patient, as the government’s reforms, though painful, are aimed at long-term economic recovery.
