Tinubu hails BPE DG at 60

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has lauded the Director General of the Bureau of Public Enterprises (BPE), Mr. Ayodeji Ariyo Gbeleyi, for his dedicated service to the country and acknowledged his significant contributions in attracting Foreign Direct Investment (FDIs) to Nigeria.

In a congratulatory message marking the BPE, DG’s 60th birthday, the president commended Gbeleyi for “his unwavering commitment to reform at various levels-private sector, subnational, and national” resulting in the DG’s leadership in modernising public institutions vital to the nation’s progress.

Tinubu noted that as the Director-General of the Bureau of Public Enterprises (BPE), Gbeleyi plays a pivotal role in transforming and optimising public enterprises nationwide.

President Tinubu expressed confidence that Gbeleyi’s disciplined approach, attention to details, and ability to inspire excellence in individuals and processes will significantly contribute to the ongoing reforms in diversification of the nation’s economy.

Tinubu’s message, which was conveyed by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Mr.Bayo Onanuga reads in part:

“On this momentous occasion, President Tinubu joins the celebration, praising Mr.Gbeleyi for his dedicated service to the country and acknowledging his significant contributions in attracting foreign direct investments.”

He prayed God to grant the celebrant good health, longevity and wished him continued success at the Bureau.

The BPE,DG who clocked 60 years on Saturday, 16th November 16, 2024,began his impressive career as the founding Director-General of the Office of Public-Private Partnerships,Lagos State and later became the Commissioner of f Finance, Lagos State. He was also the Managing Partner and Chief Executive Officer at GA Capital Limited.

An award-winning chartered accountant, Gbeleyi is a distinguished fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) and the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (CITN).

He holds an MBA from the University of Navarra (IESE) in Spain. He has advanced his education through executive programs at esteemed institutions such as the London Business School, Harvard Kennedy School of Government, Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, and Lagos Business School.
