President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has condoled with Governor Umar Namadi of Jigawa State over the demise of his beloved mother, Hajiya Maryam Namadi.
In a statement conveying President Tinubu’s condolence, Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President (Information and Strategy), has informed that Hajiya Maryam, who was the family’s matriarch, died on Wednesday, December 25.
She has been buried according to Islamic rites in the governor’s hometown of Kafin Hausa.
President Tinubu extolled the deceased’s community service and strongly encouraged her family to immortalise her by continuing her philanthropic undertakings, thereby ensuring her legacy lives on.
In a comforting message, the president urged Governor Namadi and other family members who survived the deceased to take solace in the enduring good name left behind by her.
In a post on his verified X handle on Thursday, Governor Namadi announced the death of yet another member of his family.
The post @uanamadi stated: “To Allah belongs that which He has taken, and to Him belongs that which He has given, and everything has an appointed time with Him.
“With a heavy heart and total submission to the will of Almighty Allah, His Excellency Mallam Umar Namadi, Governor of Jigawa State, announces the passing of yet another member of his family: his dear son Abdulwahab Umar Namadi.”
