President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has appointed Chief Sir Basil Ejidike, the Anambra State APC Chairman, as Chairman of the Governing Board of the National Root Crops Research Institute, Umudike, Abia State.
In a letter of appointment dated March 28, 2025, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation described the appointment of Chief Basil Ejidike as a call to national service. The appointment takes effect from March 26, 2025.

While commending President Tinubu for the honour, Chief Ejidike described the appointment as a welcome addition to the list of presidential appointments to Anambra State and the APC. He noted that it underscores the President’s recognition of party members, leaders, and the people of the state.
Ejidike also reaffirmed his continued support for the Tinubu administration.
The letter was disclosed in a statement signed and made available to journalists in Awka on Saturday by the chairman’s media aide, Pascal Candle.
