Tinubu, Akeredolu congratulate Osemawe on 70th birthday, 17th coronation anniversary

On Sunday, President Bola Tinubu and Governor Rotimi Akeredolu of Ondo State extended their congratulations to the Osemawe and paramount ruler of Ondo Kingdom, Oba Dr. Victor Ademefun Adesimbo Kiladejo, Jilo III, on the occasion of his 70th Birthday and 17th anniversary on the throne.

Tinubu, in a message personally signed by him and released to journalists on Sunday by the Chairman of the Anniversary Planning Committee, Chief Steve Akinretoye, described the Osemawe as an extraordinary agent of positive development.

The President noted that Ondo Kingdom has seen significant social and economic transformation since Oba Kiladejo, a successful medical practitioner, ascended to the throne in 2006.

The President’s letter titled “Congratulatory Message on Your Birthday and Coronation Anniversaries” read, in part, “I write with joy to wish Your Imperial Majesty a happy 70th birthday and to congratulate you on your 17th Coronation Anniversary.

“I vividly recall the circumstances almost two decades ago when Your Imperial Majesty left your successful private medical practice in Lagos to ascend the throne of your forefathers as the Osemawé and Paramount Ruler of the Ondo Kingdom.

“It is evident that 17 years later, you have admirably filled that expansive office, confirming the wisdom of the kingmakers of Ondo who chose you as the next Osemawe in 2006.

“Today, the impact of your reign over the Ondo Ekimogun people is visible across the community, touching practically all aspects of human endeavor. Your support for agencies, institutions, programs, and government officials as they engage with your community has not gone unnoticed.

“On a personal note, I appreciate the two letters of congratulations you sent to me upon my victory in the February polls and my subsequent inauguration as President.

“I pray that the years ahead are even more remarkable for you, your family, and the people of Ondo Kingdom. May your reign continue to be fruitful and prosperous. Please accept the best wishes of my family, the Federal Government, and the people of Nigeria as you celebrate both anniversaries.”

Akeredolu, in his message to the Osemawe, noted that Ondo Kingdom has continued to witness unprecedented development and unmatched peace since Oba Kiladejo’s installation 17 years ago.

Akeredolu’s letter, titled “Goodwill Message on Your Imperial Majesty’s Platinum Celebration,” read in part, “On behalf of myself and my wife, Betty, the government, and the people of Ondo State, I join numerous well-wishers in extending warm felicitations to Your Imperial Majesty on your 70th birthday and 17th year on the throne of your forebears.

“Like many great things in life, the older they get, the more enduring they become. That is certainly very true of Your Majesty. In the last seventeen years as the Osemawe of Ondo Kingdom, the ancient city of Ondo has continued to witness unprecedented development and unmatched peace.

“It is on record that Your Majesty provided unparalleled leadership when you chaired the Ondo State Council of Obas. Your counsel to our government has been invaluable and development-focused.

“We earnestly pray that Your Majesty will continue to enjoy good health and divine wisdom in providing leadership for Ondo Kingdom and Ondo State.”

“It is my great pleasure to join other Nigerians in wishing Your Majesty many more years of fruitful service to mankind.”
