The national leader of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu, former interim national chairman of APC, Chief Bisi Akande, immediate past governor of Osun State, Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola, former Minister of Defence, Senator Musiliu Obanikoro and other eminent Nigerians,
on Thursday, converged on Ilesa for the three-day fidau prayer for the late mother of Governor Rauf Aregbesola, Alhaja Saratu Aregbesola.
The fidau prayer held inside the event hall of Zenababs Hotels and Resort also attracted political associates and loyalists of Aregbesola.
Speaking during a short sermon at the programme, the Grand Mufashir of Osogboland, Alhaji Moroof Ishola urged Muslims to dedicate their lives to the service Almighty Allah and humanity.
According to him, “it behoves everybody to be conscious of death as the permanent end to the lives of all mortals, hence, we should endeavour to live a life full of positive impacts, which can serve as reference points after our exit from the world”.
Ishola, who described Aregbesola’s mother as a devoted Muslim, who had compassion for others, tasked wealthy Nigerians to assist the needy in the society by using their wealth to empower the people so that they too can live a comfortable life.
He affirmed that late Alhaja Saratu Aregbesola would forever be remembered as a community leader, successful business woman and ultimately, a good Muslim.
He tasked her children never to depart from the way laid before them.
General Alani Akinriande (rtd), Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon Mudashiru Obasa, Chief of Staff to Aregbesola, Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola, former Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr Sunday Akere, a chieftain of the APC in Osun, Alhaji Fatai Oyedele, chairman, Osun State House of Assembly Committee on Information and Strategy, Hon Olatunbosun Oyintiloye were part of dignitaries who attended the fidau prayer.
