As it stands, many households in our communities are struggling with frequent power outages, increased electricity bills and concerns about energy sustainability.
Moreover, the escalating cost of electricity is burdensome for low-income families, forcing them to choose between basic necessities and energy expenses.
This situation is unacceptable, especially considering the advancements in technology and infrastructure that should enable reliable and efficient energy distribution. The impact on public health, economic productivity and overall quality of life cannot be overstated.
I urge our authorities to take proactive measures to address these issues. Investing in renewable energy sources, upgrading our grid infrastructure and implementing energy-efficient initiatives will significantly alleviate these problems.
Additionally, offering incentives for residents and businesses adopting energy-saving practices would encourage a collective effort towards sustainability.
I request our local authorities to prioritise these concerns and engage in constructive dialogue with stakeholders. By working together, we can create a sustainable, reliable, and affordable electricity system for our community.
As citizens, we have a right to reliable and affordable energy. I hope that by highlighting these concerns, we can spark meaningful discussions and drive positive change.
