It was an all-round experience that will linger in the minds of the people who were part of the soul-lifting The Experience 2017 concert.

For the convener and Senior Pastor House on the Rock, Paul Adefarasin, top government functionaries of Lagos State, led by Governor Akinwunmi Ambode of Lagos State, clerics, gospel artistes and worshipers, it was one night that humbled everyone before the presence of God at the Tafawa Balewa Square (TBS), last Friday.

With over half a million ‘crowd’  at the venue, souls were lifted and tears of praises could be seen on the faces of those who got in the mood of praise as they listened to musical rendition from Nigerian gospel singer and their counterparts from abroad.

With the theme: Jesus our King, all the singers who took turns to exalt God’s name, had something in common-praise.

Bolaji Banjoko popularly known as  Beejay Sax, exemplified the power of saxophone as a unique musical instrument, just as he gave a medley of worship songs and held the congregation spell bound when he sang the popular hymn, All Hail The Power of Jesus. Then, Ono Ariyo stepped on the podium to thrill the crowd with her popular hits, Alagbara and Jehovah Ebenezer.

The venue came alive when UK-based Ghanaian singer, Sonnie Badu and his band took everyone to another level of praise with Opened the floodgates of heaven.  As if that was not enough, The Midnight Crew, which has consistently performed at the concert, engaged the audience in its usual way.

Some of the dignitaries at the event included RMD, Alibaba, Hajia Abah Folawiyo, Dame Abimbola Fashola, Mr and Mrs Jimi Agbaje, while leaders of notable churches in Nigeria, such as Bishop Mike Okonkwo, Pastor Matthew Asimolowo, Pastor Sam Adeyemi, were also present.

Away from music, the event featured the performances of comedians – Akpororo, Kenny Blaq, Still Ringing, Pastor Chung as they all cracked ribs the holy way.

One of the highpoints of the event was when Grammy Award nominee, Donnie Mclurkin, Travis Greene and Micah Sampley engaged in a collaboration of Nigeria’s indigenous songs to the amusement of  the spirit-filled crowd.

Jamaican singer, Chevelle Franklin also sang Glorious God, Olorun To da Awon Oke Igba ni, and the people chorused in response .

Eben and Tim Godfrey also performed Imara, You are all God by yourself and Fearless.

Also Int’l violinist, Mark Drumminski and Segun Obey rendered He Raised Me Up and the National anthem.

Other singers that thrilled the audience were Don Moen, Frank Edwards, Chioma Jesus, Nathaniel Bassey and Tope Alabi, who closed up the session.
