Thrills as Peat Philips Foundation appoints Gbonjubola Adebayo into board

It was a moment of excitement in Osogbo, recently, when popular politician, Princess Gbonjubola Adebayo, was announced as the new head of the Governing Board of the Peat Philips Foundation, organisers of the International Spelling Bee Nigeria and The Young Orators.

The announcement was made at the Ideal Nest Hotel, Osogbo, where the Foundation’s Country Head, Akinleye Olu-Philips, briefed the media and explained the laws guiding the appointment.

Akinleye, a media and communications expert, hinted that Princess Adebayo’s appointment was a mark of honour by the organisation for her contributions in promoting education across Africa and her many policies targeted at helping the children and youth with a wider focus on mentorship and development.

Adebayo, a Developmental Support Worker and businesswoman, is a prominent member of the royal family of Matanmi. She grew up in the palace of the late Oba Oyewale Matanmi, the 111th Ataoja of Osogbo.

She studied International Relations at the Edo State  University, Ekpoma, Nigeria, and also Developmental Service at CLI College Of Business Health and Technology in Canada.

A seasoned politician, she once contested for the Osun State House of Assembly.
