Three suspected armed robbers were burnt by members of Orlu community in Orlu Local Government Area of Imo State.
Tribune Online gathered that the trio was caught in the act and burnt alive by the irate community members.
The armed robbers met their waterloo when they sneaked into the community to rob before the people caught them and burnt them.
An eyewitness said they were first shot on the legs to prevent them from escaping.
Worried by the rate of crime in the area, the people descended on the suspects.
The suspects were reportedly forced to make confessions especially on the mission they just carried out, which they reportedly said was successful.
They were thereafter beaten to stupor and burnt alive.
The Imo State Police Command Public Relations Officer, CSP Michael Abatham, confirmed the incident to Tribune Online.
He said that the suspected armed robbers were caught by the community members and before the officers of the Nigerian Police could arrive at the scene, they had already burnt them.
